***Excerpt*** DETHRONED

“Jade, baby, where have you been? I have been worried sick! Where are you? Are you all right?” King answered the phone with a million and one questions. Jade couldn’t get a word in edgewise.

“I’m fine, some startling discoveries came about that forced me to leave suddenly.” She cryptically stated.

“Discoveries, what the fuck are you talking about?” He griped.

“First off, you can kill the shouting because I will not speak over you or beg to be heard. Do you understand me?”

“Who do you think you are talking to? Where do you get off giving demands? You are my wife and you just ran off without so much as a word. Your family and friends don’t even know where you are.”

“One, I am talking to you. You are the only jackass on this phone. As far as giving demands, I simply asked you to shut the fuck up so that I could speak.”

“What the fuck…”

“SHUT UP!” Jade shouted. “I am so sick of your mouth. Just listen dammit!”

“…”

“I am safer than I could ever be away from the likes of you. Anywhere near your lying, deceitful, cheating ass would surely land my ass in jail. You were not worried about your wife as you wallowed in the mud with filthy animals so don’t worry about your wife now.” Jade took a deep breath before she continued. “I know about you and that bitch.”

“…” She could hear the shocked gasp through the phone.

“Don’t sound so shocked, how long did you really think you could keep this tidbit of information in the dark?” A thought occurred to Jade as she let those words leave her mouth. “The real question is, how long has this been going on? Or better yet, how many more are there?”

“This is crazy,” he grumbled lowly.

“No what’s crazy is that I thought I was actually special to have the “King” as my husband. It’s crazy that I thought that you would one day be faithful to me, that you really loved me. “Lord’s little ole spoiled brat, who would ever take me seriously.” Isn’t that what you once told me? “Everyone hates me and thinks the worst of me,” that’s what you said, right?”

“Baby, it was nothing. She means nothing to me.”

“Stop,” Jade showed the first ounce of emotion besides anger since they began speaking. She was hurt beyond comprehension as she let the tears cascade down her face. “How could you do this to me?”

“It was one time, she is nothing to me. Stasia was nothing more than a pass around.” He started to explain. “The whole crew had a turn.”

“Are you serious?”

“That bitch was angry because I told her it was a mistake and would never happen again.” He kept talking and Jade was starting to breathe hysterically. “That is the only reason why she ran her mouth was to get back at me. She wanted money.”

“No,” she shook her head from side to side.

“I was drunk and high, I wasn’t in my right mind. I’m so sorry baby, you have to believe me.” He pleaded.

“STOP!”

“But baby…”

“I said STOP! You, sorry son of a bitch, I HATE YOU! If I didn’t know for a fact that I had a clean bill of health, I would assume the worst and kill you myself. Thanks to your nasty ass, I will live in the clinic to be certain that you have not infested me with your dangerous exhibitions.”

“You don’t mean that,” he almost sounded remorseful, but Jade wasn’t fooled.

“I am fucking pregnant and thanks to you, our baby could be in danger. You are a disgrace, I hate I ever laid eyes on you. I married you despite my family’s reservations and this is the thanks I get.”

“Pregnant?”
